Manual scrubbing
- Its done to remove the debris, cements and blood
Ultrasonic Cleaning
- Helps to clear any remnants after scrubbing
Sterilization and Disinfection
We use different sterilization methods for different dental instruments.
1.AUTOCLAVE
1.AUTOCLAVE
- Steam sterilization (Autoclave) is considered to be the most effective method of sterilization for most of the dental instruments
2.GLASS BEAD STERILIZER
- It is an heat transfer device used for sterilization of small instruments.
- It rapidly sterilizes instruments within 10-60 seconds by heating the glass beads.
- We use it for sterilization of endodontic files, rotary instruments and burs.
- Advantage is the effective and safe sterilization of metal instruments and mirrors in short time.
3.AEROTOR
- First the aerotor is wiped with a disinfecting solution.
- It is then lubricated.
- After lubrication it is run in high speed to remove excess oil.
- Then the fiber optic surfaces are cleaned before sterilization in autoclave.
4.DISINFECTION OF CHAIRS
- The dental chairs are wiped with disinfecting solution after every patient.
- We use disposable suction tip for every patient.
- The suction unit disinfection is done every day.
- Drinking water is used in the boosters for patient safety.
5. STERILIZATION OF IMPRESSION AND IMPRESSION TRAYS
- Impression trays are cleaned to remove any debris and remaining impression material.
- Plastic impression trays are disinfected by wiping with disinfection solution.
- Metal trays are dried and autoclaved.
- The impressions are disinfected by washing in running water and immersing in disinfection solution.
Storage
- The instruments are dried, pouched and stored in UV sterilization cabinets.
- They are taken out with gloves before the procedure and arranged.
